THE Moms on the mic

CAITLIN IRWIN
Caitlin was born Kim, Seong Mee in Seoul, South Korea, and was adopted to American parents when she was 10 months old. She worked for 13 years at UCHealth as a critical care dietitian, and is currently working at Children’s Hospital of Colorado as a Value Analysis Coordinator. She is a mom to a wonderfully sassy 8-year-old daughter who teaches her something new every day. When she received an unexpected breast cancer diagnosis in 2021, she started to unbox both her Korean heritage and her identity as a Korean adoptee.

LIZZIE KRONHOLM
Lizzie is a Midwest gal who followed her heart to Colorado 11 years ago and has been planting roots ever since. With a background in graphic design, she found her creative voice designing patterned stationery and home goods with her first business, Craftbelly. She’s currently learning to love a different pace of life while staying home with her two goofy and wildly cute toddlers, ages three and one, while figuring out how to stay in the mix with her current wedding stationery biz, Paper Girl Creative. She’s usually wondering where her coffee is and when she might have showered last.

PRISCILLA DANN-COURTNEY
Priscilla is a psychologist and writer. She and her husband of 42 years raised three children who have successfully made it to adulthood. However, Priscilla is still trying to get there. She believes that while we all grow older, the focus should be on growing and trying new things. In her 20s, she biked across the country. In her 30s, she went bungee jumping and had three kids. In her 40s, she survived their adolescence and started running competitively. In her 50s, she found yoga. And in her 60s, she has discovered stand-up comedy, embracing both the joy of laughter and the art of making ourselves BIG and center stage.

JODI MESA
Jodi is a Colorado native and solo parent turned recent empty nester, now living in the Golden Triangle. She’s the proud mom of 18-year-old Zeek, who’s juggling studying business and musical theater at UNC, which means she officially has a kid who can sing and do her taxes. With over 25 years in technology leadership, Jodi is the Chief Product and Technology Officer and Co-founder of Luster, where she leads product, design, and engineering. Beyond tech, Jodi is working on a book called Relaunch, which applies the frameworks she’s used for decades in product development to something even trickier than startups: building a life you actually love, one intentional step at a time.

SHAYNA FERM
Shayna is a mom of two teens and has been a lifelong creative with nearly thirty years as a performer, producer, musician and writer. After building the brand, Band of Mothers, which included a nationally touring comedy show for moms called “The Pump and Dump Show,” a published book, and a podcast with Warner Bros, Shayna has redirected her talent to writing women’s fiction novels that focus on the main character’s crisis and self-discovery in midlife. You can follow her journey as an author at @shaynafermwrites on Instagram.

Brit Stueven
Hi! I’m Brit — an adoptive mama, writing coach, speaker, and creative community builder. Since 2015, I’ve helped hundreds of people bring their longtime dreams to life. My first book, Mama Be Present, has ranked in the Motherhood Top 100 on Amazon and reached readers in seven countries and counting. When I’m not dancing in the kitchen with my 7-year-old, I’m writing Behind the Mic newsletters and leading The DBP Society — where done is better than perfect and aspiring writers find courage and community.
THE OPEN MIC
For the open mic portion this year, there will be three open mic spots set for five minutes each. Signup always happens at the event. If you want to throw your name in, look for the “Open Mic Signup” table near the stage, fill out the form, and then wait to see if your name is drawn right before you take the mic. Ohhhh, the suspense!
THE SPONSORS
THE MAGAZINE
This year, we’re elevating the event program into a full-color magazine featuring stories from local women, profiles of community-rooted businesses, and select advertising opportunities. Instead of traditional goodie bags, attendees will receive a beautifully designed publication they’ll want to read, keep, and share.
If you’re interesting in advertising, check out the MOTM Magazine Ad Guide, then email brit@britstueven.com to secure your spot. Ads and profiles are filling fast!

PRAISE
“When Brit asked me to be a speaker for her first Moms on the Mic event, I was thrilled to fly up from Texas! The energy and enthusiasm in the room were palpable and contagious. As we witnessed the vulnerability of one woman after another get up to the podium and take the mic in hand, we shared tears, laughter, and deep joy. The air we were all breathing was packed full of authenticity, bravery, and transparency. It was the perfect audience for me to share my keynote message of the importance of female connections to our health, happiness, and longevity from my book, The Healing Power of Girlfriends.
